Analyzing Survey Results

You can access the results section of your survey at any point in the collection process. This is where all your survey responses are compiled as charts, and text responses.

You’ll also be able to export your results as a spreadsheet (via the Export tab in the left sidebar) or as a PDF (via the Print tab).

You can use filters and comparisons to break down your data into more digestible chunks based on responses, email metrics, or contact information.

Survey Report

This is the main section of your results, which contains all of your responses as charts, data tables, and text responses.

Tip: To change the title, simply click the header at the top of your report and edit the text. By default, this will be the title of the first page of your quiz.

Question Results

For each closed question in your quiz, a chart or graph will be generated in your report. These will be accompanied by:

  • Number of respondents who chose each answer
  • Standard deviation for the question
  • Total number of responses

Data Table

Some questions, such as the Matrix or multi-factor scales, will also be accompanied by a data table.

These will also provide the following information:

  • Standard Deviation
  • Total number of responses
  • Number of respondents who chose each scale point
  • Weighted average for each sub-question
  • Total weighted average

For more information on any of the above, you can visit the Data Table article.

Charts

There is a selection of Chart/ Graph types that you can switch between, through the Question Quick Menu for each question report. The Y-axis (vertical line) depicts the number of responses, whilst the X-axis (horizontal line) corresponds with the number selected by respondents. The available chart types are:

  • Doughnut Chart
  • Line Graph
  • Column Graph
  • Radar Chart
  • Pie Chart
  • Star Rating
  • Rankings
  • NPS (only available for the NPS question type)

Note: Not all graphs and charts are available to every question type, but you are able to switch between those that are available.

Text Responses

Open questions will not generate a graph. Instead, they will be stored in your report as Text Responses.

These will be stored in the order that participants submitted them.

Individual Responses

You are also able to view results from individual respondents, following the below method:

Go To Individual Responses

  1. Go to the Results section
  2. Click ‘Individual Responses in the top bar
  3. Cycle through individual results using the arrows or scroll bar

Individual Response

To exit the Individual Results section, click your report title in the top bar.

Tracked Responses

Tracked ResponsesThis feature allows you to view which of your contacts have responded to your survey, providing you launched via email invitations.

If you did not send email invitations and enable tracking, then no responses will be stored in this section.

To view these, click ‘Tracked Responses’ in the top bar of your Results section. You can then use the slide bar or arrows to cycle through each individual tracked response.

You can also send reminders to those who are yet to respond to your survey.

Note: Responses that are ‘tracked’ are not anonymous.

Filters and Comparisons

To learn more about filtering and comparing results, see our How to Filter and Compare Results article. You can also apply multiple filters to a report, allowing you to very specific sets of data.

Filters

Applying filters narrow the scope of your results according to a set of rules.

Comparisons

This feature can also be known as Cross Analysis or Segmenting and allows you to compare two sets of data side-by-side. It is possible to mix Filters and Comparisons for full control of your results.
